As pet owners we respect anyone who has taken on and accepted the responsibility of owning a pet. However, adopted and rescued pets have
a special place in our hearts. As the owner of two extraordinary adopted pets we can't understand why anyone would ever consider
giving up these animals. Financial burdens, medical expenses, disabilities, abuse, or any number of other event leaves these animals
vulnerable. And in our opinion, adopted and rescued pet owners accept the challenge to provide stability and care for these animals. Therefore,
we have designed or program to honor the adopted or rescued pet, the owner, the pet organizations, and hopefully influence and encourage future pet
owners to consider pet adoption or rescue as a pet companionship option.

There is no cost associated with submitting your adopted or rescued pet. This is a free service to educate potential pet owners on the
virtues and benefits of considering an adoption or rescued pet by present real stories about real pet companionship.

We verify your email address to verify that you are in fact the individual submitting the information. Once verified, we then
forward the submitted pet's information to our team to review. This process helps avoid spamming our review team with
submissions that are not valid or inappropriate. If an email address is not verified within three days, we delete the content for
privacy and storage management.

An "adopted or rescued pet" is a pet that has been abandoned, is no longer with its original owner, regardless of reason, is a stray or homeless, and is now a
permanent member of your family. If you are the original owner by way of adopting the pet from an animal rescue, shelter, or pound then you
are also eligible to submit your special pet.

The following is a short list of why a nominated rescue would be declined:
- You nominated a pet that you do not own
- Your pet does not qualify as an "adopted or rescued pet"
- You submitted inappropriate material
- You did not verify your email address
- We were unable to use the image you submitted

During the Beta and initial release we will not be accepting paid sponsorships on the individual "Adopted pet of the Day" profile pages,
friend emails, or our "Adopted Pets of the Week" summary newsletter. Once we have established a viewership, we will then
consider accepting paid sponsorships that are relevant to our readership. Money raised through paid sponsorships will then be distributed
to pet adoption and rescue organizations.
